Silicon & Carbon Brief: from Semiconductors to Society

Hello World!

Mark, 29th March, 2026, the day of creation! Finally!

After a few iterations with ChatGPT, the blog finally has a name: “Silicon & Carbon Brief.” “Silicon” represents the tech world I’ve been part of for over a decade, while “Carbon” reflects the human side of me—a space to capture my thoughts, feelings, and wild ideas.

Another connection to what I love: SiC is the chemical formula for the gemstone moissanite.

Moissanite is kind of the anti-curation metaphor. It doesn’t pretend to be diamond—it just happens to look incredible because of how it’s built. The “shine” isn’t added afterward; it’s baked into the structure.

Humans tend to do the opposite: we polish the surface and hope it reads as something deeper.
